Adding a climbing photo

Tap the plus button in your gallery to choose a photo, take one with the camera, upload from Files, or create a folder. Camera access is only needed when taking a photo.

Selecting holds and volumes

Use the magic lasso to tap a hold or draw around it. Automatic selection runs on your device. On iPhone, Apple’s selection model may need to download first; the app shows its preparation state. If it cannot finish downloading, try a stable connection or Wi-Fi. The manual area tool is available for shapes you want to draw yourself.

Cutting and erasing

Select an area, choose Cut, then draw a line through it. Use the eraser over an outer outline to remove an area, or over a cut to join adjacent pieces. Joining an allowed and a hatched piece makes the joined area allowed. Undo restores the previous edit.

Saving or cancelling

Press the checkmark (Done) to save the editable climb in TickMark and create or update its linked photo in your phone’s photo library. Press X to discard the current draft. Allow photo-library access when prompted so TickMark can keep its saved image updated.

If a Photos save fails

Your climb may already be saved in TickMark. Check TickMark’s photo permissions in your phone’s Settings and press Done again. If the linked photo was deleted, restore it from Recently Deleted. Copies saved by older app versions may remain separate.

Before reinstalling

Your editable gallery is stored in the app. Uninstalling removes this local gallery; exported images in Photos are separate. Contact support before reinstalling if you need help keeping your work.
